The New Orleans Halfmoons Womxn’s Rugby team will be hosting their annual “Throw Me Something, Rugger!” Mardi Gras Tournament on February 7, 2026. The tournament is 15’s rugby and is open to womxn, mxn, and youth. Motley teams are allowed if all rostered players are registered with USA Rugby. Please email us a roster with names and CIPP numbers for motley teams. See the linked instructions for temporary USA Rugby Membership specific to our event dates for motley players not affiliated with a USA Rugby club.
Teams are guaranteed three games (weather permitting) during the one day of competition.

Registration
- TEAM REGISTRATION: Registration is currently open for womxn, mxn, and youth teams.
- SINGLE PLAYER REGISTRATION: In an effort to create more opportunities for womxn to compete, players may now register as single players to be added to a “Mardi Gras” motley team. The cost starts at $25 per player, non-refundable.

Game Day
TEMPORARY USA RUGBY MEMBERSHIP INSTRUCTIONS: If you are a motley team with non-USA Rugby players, or a college team not affiliated with USA RUGBY, you must obtain temporary membership at a cost of $15 per person and submit a team roster no later than Sunday, February 1st. Instructions can be found here. Must have a level 200 certified coach!
2026 SCHEDULE:
KICKOFF is 8:00AM, 20 min halves with a 5-minute halftime
Final Match will be at 4:20PM. Our famous Mardi Gras trophies will be awarded after the final match.
Official tournament schedule will be released once all teams are compliant! Get your rosters in now to get approved!
A New Orleans specialty, gumbo, King Cake, and other refreshments will be available for purchase!
